    Dear Forum,
I have been trying to solve the exercise in the title, but I got stuck and now require a little help. I was able to create the block and give it the functionality as described in the exercise. My problem is the following: If I right click the block for the first time, everything works as expected, the strength of the redstone signal increases. But on the second right click this does not happen. However if I break the redstone dust it updates. This is true for the opposite direction as well. How can I possibly fix this error? Thanks in advance.

That's probably because you are not sending the information about the signal strength from the server (where is calculated) to the client. I don't want to tell you the solution to this problem because it's a lot better if you can figure the solution out on your own. Just remember what's the easyest way to sync client and server when working with blocks :)

Okay. So I've tried numerous possible ways to solve this issue. But I still have no luck. I'd be more than greatful is someone could help me with this, because it's driving me nuts.

Nevermind. I was actually able to solve this issue using metadata(Thanks for the help DaylightDetector). :)
