caseSensitiveCustomCategories question

  • 2013-10-12 10:35:39
    I've completed the initial exercises and in building my config handler, I found a second (optional) parameter for the Configuration constructor:

    public Configuration(File file, boolean caseSensitiveCustomCategories);

    If set to false (the default if you omit it apparently) the entries in the config file are converted to lowercase for category settings. If set to true, it keeps whatever case you use in your config data.

    Is there a downside to setting this to true that I am just not seeing at the moment? I am assuming it was defaulted to false for a reason.

    I didn't know that existed and can't therefore give a proper answer. I would assume that setting it to true would force the user to make sure the case in the config is correct when editing it. But since players don't write their own configs(they simply edit the generated one) I can't see why that would be a problem.
